The busiest days are Wed before Thanksgiving and Sunday afterwards.

I travelled on the Monday after Thanksgiving last year. The security lines at PHL were the worst I have ever seen. It took almost 2 hours to get through.

Anyone have any thoughts on also trying to upgrade with a space available certificate? Has anyone tried this at this time of year?

Also, when you traveled on the Monday after did you go through Charlotte or Phl?

Uh...never mind on that last question. I see now you had traveled through PHL.

Still interested in space A upgrade thoughts...

I originated my travel in PHL (not a connection). I was not heading to Europe. I departed on Monday morning on a domestic itin. Perhaps the lines weren't so bad on Monday evening.

Best time to travel, Monday before in the morning, Thanksgiving day, day after in the morning and the MOnday after in the evening. Tuesday and Wednesday before are horrendous but the Sunday after is the busiest.

Thanksgiving morning, before 11 am is also bad. 2 hours delay should be normal, if you have connection in PHL. A lot of cancelled flights on Wed night due to heave traffic will leave early morning first.

My experiences and understanding are that both Thursday and Friday PM are light travel times.
