We are looking at planning a trip from LAX to Australia in December or January, using Air New Zealand and hopefully taking advantage of the AmEx Platinum Card 2-for-1 business class ticket offer. Is there any way to be sure that the aircraft which will be used in December or January will be configured with Business Premier and not the old Business Class? Not sure if the new service is being phased in on a random basis or if there is any way to be sure of what you're buying. (We'd be willing to fly out of SFO if it would make a difference.) Are there specific flight numbers that will have the new seats?
I did a search on the topic, but it was hard to tell if some of the information in the older threads has changed as result of (i) delays in the reconfiguration program, or (ii) the Boeing strike, which is perhaps delaying the arrival of the new Boeing 777's. The website references a date of November 6 for LAX flights, but I can't tell if that's the date that the flights might be Business Premier, or are sure to be.
I am asking because we're willing to spend the money for business class if it's Business Premier, but not the old business class. As I noted above, we'd be willing to fly out of SFO if service from there is now "guaranteed" to be Business Premier.
Thanks.
