PT Garuda Indonesia, the Asian nation's biggest airline, said Friday it signed an agreement with Boeing Co. to lease planes valued at $2 billion.

Garuda will lease 28 aircraft: 10 Boeing 710-787 Dreamliners and 18 Boeing 737-New Generations.

The company posted sales of $650 million in the first seven months of the year, airline President Emirsyah Satar said, without giving comparative numbers. The airline's sales rose 15 percent in 2004.

The Dreamliner planes will be acquired as soon as 2011, the company said in a statement. The statement didn't say when it will lease the 737-New Generations planes.
