I'm sure this a problem many of you frequent travellers are faced with..keeping travel of expenses. I seem to fall further and further behind with my expenses. Our company expensing system requires us to be attached to the corporate network to do expenses. This means that we can't use time on the plane to do our expenses.
Have any of you found efficient ways of keeping track of receipts and expenses? So far, I have just been organizing receipts week by week and project by project in envelopes.
Thanks in advance!

First, I save ALL my receipts.
I keep track of my expenses in a simple Excel spreadsheet. I create a new spreadsheet for each week. Inside the spreadsheet, I create little "sections" for each day, with the the expenses for that day going inside that section/column.
On Saturday morning or Sunday evening, I enter them into the corporate expense application. It's become a habit.

Second the Excel idea. It's simple, customizable and probably already on your laptop. You can even create fields in the spreadsheet that correlate exactly to those on your expense reporting software so it's a simple copy-and-paste job when you do get back on the network.

I track them in my palm using the expense function. I then get back to the office and can check off as I enter them

I've got a strong 'J' in my Myers Briggs type... In fact, I don't answer a single element 'P'
1. Receipts into inside pocket in bag
2. Weekly, order and sort into a file on my desk at the office
3. Monthly (with credit card statement) sort, input (into TER in Lotus Notes) and submit. (I have to use the c/c statement to get the right currency exchange rate). I'm also able to bundle taxi chits on the same charge code, etc.

Get ExpenseLog Pro from www.mobilepro.net. You input and categorize expenses on the handheld, and then wirelessly synch it to their web-based client which can store years worth of expenses, export, print reports, archive stuff, etc. It cost me $14.95 and has saved me thousands of dollars in expenses I used to forget about/lose/etc., not to mention the time savings.
