This isn't anything new, but it is getting worse. I'm sitting in a Courtyard Marriott right now that is about a mile from LAX, has been here for several years and Neverlost can't find it.

I was in Gainesville, FL a few weeks ago and, get this, Neverlost doesn't even know that the airport I rented from exists.

When do they update their map info? This is getting ridiculous.

NL took me to where it thought my Hotel was in Huntsville,AL a few weeks ago.

The Hotel address that NL showed was correct, but the hotel was actually 5 miles in the opposite direction from the spot where NL told me "You Have Arrived at your destination".

I was dissapointed, although i must say NL has never let me down like this previously.

It is my understanding that the NL computer in each car is not updated after its original install.

I don't think NL has been updated since they launched it. It still does not recognize the Marriott in Quincy MA which has been open for several years and I had one occassion in ALB where ist took me to the wrong address. With that said, I always request NL on all my rentals---I just wish they would freshen up the data

NL has no freakin' clue where the Hertz drop off location is at the minneapolis airport. NL also took me to a Sky Kitchen parking lot when i asked for a FedEx near the airport.

NL is hopelessly out of date.

I would think the system is updated every now and then. But my friend, who works for Hertz IT, did note that once NL took him to the old airport return location for Hertz (a new integrated facility was built in a new location), so if they do update it, it's not regularly.

Still, it's always saved my bum so I continue to request it when in a new city.

The last time I was in Boston, the NL didn't know about the completion of the Big Dig. It took me on the old "detour" route...what an adventure!

I've also had many experiences where it wasn't aware of hotels that had been around for a year or more, or where roads have been slightly rerouted.

And it usually tells me the nearest Wal-Mart is 957 miles away in Peoria, IL.
Speaking of Wal-Mart, the Neverlost can't find the one on Rt 46 in Saddle Brook, NJ, even when you enter the correct address.

In most cases, however, it's better than nothing.

Actually happened to me in IAH (when they moved to the "common" terminal) fortunately I paid attention where I picked the car up) :D

I think that was the same Walmart that NL in Seattle gave me directions to :)

I could never get it to even show a Walmart, Kmart, or Target in the state, it seemed to pop up random locations around the country.

My new rule is that if it doesn't know the location I rented it from, I'm asking for my money back.

A better rule may be to just leave the car wherever NL says the dropoff location is. If they have to pick up cars from random places enough times, perhaps they'll update the system.

It looks like they should change the name to ONLY SOMETIMES LOST

Well my unit at DEN does not know the Marriott Tech Center in it's memory, so I had to feed in the address, which worked great. It did know the downtown Marriott and the South Denver one.

NL "Hertz Airport Return" Doesn't know where the (EUG) Eugene, OR airport is either.

Found this out the hard way last night.

I never rely on NL knowing the name of a location, I always bring the street address.

Of course, sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to figure out how to enter "Route 46" (In NJ it goes in as US 46, but it could be SR 46 -- state route -- or IL 46 -- Illinois in other locations). It's VERY annoying.

I received the new NL unit in my Ford 500 and it's pretty neat. The screen is a bit easier to read and it now calls out the exit number as well as the street/highway name. My old unit the week before in DEN did neither.
