Over labor day weekend at the company picnic I won a $500 dollar Dell gift certificate (won the balloon toss)
I really have no need for a PC or laptop at this time
the only thing on the website that caught my eye was the mp3 players
Are they decent?

I know I;ll catch hell for not going with latest gadget (Ipod nano) but this would be free with a little left over for accessories.

Any comments would be appreciated

I don't know about the current ones, but I have a Dell MP3 player that is about 1 year old. I've found it to be quite good - good sound, good battery life, and I've had no problems with it at all.

Dell also sells quite a few Cannon digital cameras and video recorders - with a coupon deal (such as those on www.techbargains.com every day or so) you can pickup a very nice unit for under $500.

Enjoy,
Bruce

Do you already have a PDA? The Dell Axim would be a great purchase.

the dell dj is quite capable, though not as slick as the ipod. but notably cheaper

Thanks for the advice,
I do have an old hanspring PDA that could use replacing but am holding out to see if the company will pay for a replacement
Kinda wanted to blow the $$$$ on something for me, not work related so the DJ was something that looked attractive.
Digital camera isnt a bad idea though

What he said.

I have had one for almost 2 years now and I thing it's great. Much better value than IPod. Excellent battery life, which leads me to my one complaint is that it is somewhat heavy relative to other MP3 players.

But if I was buying now, I would go for the IPod Nano. So small!

Keep your eye on http://www.edealinfo.com for all sorts of interesting Dell coupons. You'll find something that will catch your eye. When used with sale codes and discount ecoupons, you can score some digital cameras for cheap!

For the record, I have no relationship with edealinfo.com other than being a satisfied user.
