Does anyone has lost miles/points or even membership with PC for misuse of the 10K promo codes? I've read one story once here, but was just wondering if it has been repeated since then?

Atleast two FTers I know have had issues in this regard.

Issues that have left them without points and membership?

Why would it be misuse?
If PC wanted one time use only promo, they can come up with that... its technically possible, others do it

A quick search of this forum will reveal more than one long discussion about the "misuse" aspect associated with signing up for recipient-only promotions for which you were not explicitly targetted.

Exactly.

And again. It's not illegal to apply to be considered for a promotion. IC can set up a simple programme that matches pesonalised offers to applications to join. They don't. The time for them to say "hold on ... we don't want you" is at this point. If they accept you and issue and acceptance - there's a new contract for future effectedd bookings for the promotion and if you go on to buy the product, you're entitled to the contingent discount ie the points. If they then change THEIR mind they are in breach of contract. You do nothing wrong for applying. They do a heap wrong for not telling you you don't qualify, and for then changing their mind after your purchase, and heaven forbade take your other points away.

The issue is no one bothers to take them to court. Hence they get away with it.

The thread(s) I remember about this, in the end, were not about the 10k bonuses but something all together different.

I'm in the camp of people who don't feel this is a misuse and/or don't worry much about it.

I was thinking much the same. In fact, I am not sure that the threads I remember ever came to any conclusive position on what the reasons were

Have most people been getting these bonuses? I shared the list of codes in my small office and about 2 of 7 people didn't get any points, while I and the others did... Glad I was one of the lucky ones

I wonder if there is any pattern to those that don't get bonuses. Like, for example, do you have to get invited to at least one to make them all work, or something else. Must be some pattern to it.

Hi
After being on here for a nearly a year, my observations about the bonuses is that its all down to pure luck!

Out of the last three big 10k I managed 1 and 1/2 of them (yep had them for first half of a promo).

it is not a misuse - it is rather breach of the terms and conditions of the promotion.

Ahem....speaking of promo codes, Londoners may be interested to check out the BOGOF link for this weekend, cheapest deals I've yet seen....CP Docklands £29/night for instance.

Thanks.

I just got 2 nights at the HI Kings Cross for 85 pounds total. I was going to use points for the stay, but the rate seems too good.
