California - How to take BART from OAK to Mandarin Hotel in SF?

I am arriving OAK on Saturday around 11am and would be interested in taking BART from the airport to the Mandarin Hotel in downtown SF located at 222 Sansome St.

I'm leaving the next day at 12pm from OAK.

Can anyone explain the BART process to me and let me know how long to allow for this?

The hotel is between Embarcadero and Montgomery St. Stations. I'd get off at Embarcadero (it may be a block or so additional walk) only because Montgomery is a slight backtrack. Either is very close.

Allow a fair amount of time for the return. Sunday service is limited. Only one of the 2 lines that Mon-Sat would go between SF and OAK airport run on Sunday - so it could be up to a 20 min wait. Also, the bumble**** that sometimes is AirBart - well, allow additional time. I didn't notice if the As or Raiders are playing that day, but you will need to pass through the Coliseum/Airport station WELL prior to gametime.

Our office in SFO is very close the Mandarin; I enter/exit at the Montgomery Street Station when I use BART.

Using BART out of OAK is pretty easy - buy the AirBART ticket from the kiosk by the terminal exit, catch the shuttle to the Coliseum, buy a BART ticket, wait for the right train, and get on.

Getting back to OAK is a bit tricky, as you'll need to give yourself ample time to catch the shuttle back to the airport from the Coliseum (unknown how long you will need to wait for this and how bad the traffic into OAK will be) and also enough time to clear security (which can easilt be 30-60 min).

The only time-saving tip I can offer is to consider buying the Travel Pack offered on the BART website, which will give you two AirBART passes and the exact fare needed to get to Montgomery or Embarcadero from the airport and back.
