US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-2005 America West merger) - Sept last month to use miles for US Club membership?

Today in RDU, the US Club agents told me that September will be the last month that you can redeem miles for memberships. I'm not sure whether anyone knows if this is true or not, but it may be worth it, if the membership opens doors to HP clubs post merger.

Not sure how many HP clubs there even are (or where they are), but when there are delays, it's nice to have a membership where you can plug in laptop, get a snack, vist a clean restroom, etc.

And for the new CPs, you can get a membership for just 40k miles. Based on the amount you'd pay per day ($50?), the mileage deal seems like a pretty good deal.

Yeah we had just mentioned this a few days ago here Does anyone know how many miles they require for a chairmans to buy club membership? (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4513540) (Last 2 messages) I was hoping to be able to take advantage of it with the new airline as I have a few hundred thousand miles with HP but only a few thousand with US. I would like to join the club but could never justify the cost to the Mrs. so I guess I will not get to take advantage of it.

BTW I think there are 4 HP clubs...3 in PHX and 1 in LAS so not adding alot.

Lance

Edited to add HP club count.
