My wife and I are taking a vacation to Moorea this Fall. I am SkyTeam Elite Plus (Northwest). Is anyone familiar with this route? Is the Delta lounge in LAX available to us pre-flight? Is there a lounge in PPT? Also, any luck with any op-ups on this route? I've read that the flights can be pretty packed. Thanks.

Can't help you with PPT, but you can use the CRC in LAX.

However AF has moved to T2 at LAX so you would use the NW WorldClub. I'm pretty sure there is a lounge at PPT, but you'll get more info in the FB Forum.

Flights are pretty packed, but also in Business Class. There is one single lounge at PPT that all airlines share, you need an invitation to use it (inquire at check-in).

Ia Orana from Tahiti !
I'm an AF flight attendant based in Papeete and only operate this route. Do tell me when you'll be flying and what other questions you have.
But as the others said, AF has moved to T2 close to KLM. l'Espace Première First Class passengers use the Air New Zealand lounge and l'Espace Affaires Business Class ones use the NWA World Club lounge.
Concerning Papeete, AF shares the only lounge there is in the airport.
Concerning upgrades, AF does it if needed and will go through the FB platinum and gold list before starting to upgrade other pax. Yet if you are nice and tell the ground staff that should they need to upgrade someone, you'll be happy if it were you...

My wife and I will be flying LAX-PPT on Nov. 5 and returing (PPT-LAX) on Nov. 12. Although I am Platinum Elite with NW, my wife is elite with a non-FB airline, and I don't expect that both of us could be accommodated. I don't expect that I have a chance of being upgraded. Frankly, I am excited to fly internationally for the first time. Unfortunately, all of my traveling has been within the US this year (which gets somewhat tedious). My WorldClubs and SkyTeam Elite Plus status should get us into the lounge prior to the flights. Regardless, I have got us first row in Tempo (bulkhead) to stretch out our legs. I am definitely looking forward to visiting Tahiti and Moorea.

Since the flight from LAX-PPT departs at 12:30 midnight, I believe the NW club is already closed. The club stays open until 9 PM on the nights for the AF flight to CDG but no later. The nights without the AF flight to Paris, the NW club closes at 6 PM.
PS Make sure if you originiate in LAX to check-in a little early, the terminal is very busy to get through security....
