I have some award reservations that I arranged on the phone. They're currently on hold, is it possible to book/ticket those itins online to avoid the service charge?

No it is not. Why not just book it on-line?
US Airways use to have a hold feature on their website a few years back. I do not know why they got rid of it.

If it includes any travel on United codeshares, or if it's a Star Alliance award, he can't book it online.
Unfortunately, it looks like you're stuck with paying the $5 fee, chexfan.
I know they don't charge the fee when you ticket a VDB at the airport (which you have to do since it's a paper certificate). Maybe you can get them to waive the fee for this case as well, since you have no choice but to reserve over the phone?

It's all on US metal w/ US flight numbers. Because I have a double connection, I couldn't reserve the itinerary online.
It looks like I'm stuck w/ paying the extra $5... :(

Do I dare ask why you'd want to take an extra connection, since you're on an award, and won't get segment credit for it? :)

award tickets that require double connections should be able to be booked online (for instance, LEB-SCE requires connections in LGA and PHL). What city pairs are you trying for?

I couldn't get SEA-LGW online. Anyway. Anyhow.
The agent on the phone was able to get me SEA-PHL-CLT-LGW-PHL-SEA.

Agreed, JC. When I cashed in 50K last month to do BLF-IAD-CLT-SFO-PIT-IAD-BLF, I couldn't book it online because our favorite website would not find it. I called Gold rez, got a lame duck rez angel in PIT and she tried to get them to waive the $5 fee, even though this was impossible to book online. No dice. And to make it more sad, there's two separate charges on my BOA card... one for the $10 security fee, and a separate $5 charge for the phone booking. The online rez makes no mention of the $5 charge either.
