Luxury Hotels - top hotel in Kiev

I'm going to be visiting Kiev for first time; what's the best? thx

The answer is: Premier Palace Hotel... Don't get too excited about it.

I had a 3-night stay at the Premier Palace earlier this year. It has an excellent location (less than a block from vulitsa Khreshchatyk, which is the main street in the city for walking, shopping, and demonstrating). However, I would not characterize it as a true luxury hotel even though it is billed as the city's only 5-star hotel. Maybe there are rooms with a view, but I never found any. Be sure to book a larger room, at least in the deluxe category. Hotel also provides a private car to and from airport for a charge, which can be arranged by email. A new Radisson just opened in Kiev last spring, so perhaps someone in the Radisson forum can comment on that property, but it can't have as good a location as the Premier Palace. I also heard at one time that a new Hyatt will open in late 2005.
