Midwest Airlines Midwest Miles - Pretty Quiet Around Here

I've been flying PWM->MKE and back via DTW on NW every week for the last 16 months, and this week was the last week I'd booked with them due to the looming AMFA strike. I could be doing this commute for another year, too.
It looks like I'll be flying BOS->MKE and back on YX for a while, since no one else has a schedule that fits my needs. Can't say I'm particularly upset about the accomodations on the Signature Service 717's, either :)
Doesn't seem like there's a lot of activity on this forum, though; is it because Midwest is a relatively small airline when compared to CO/NW/AA/DL etc? Or is it because there's just not that much to complain about?

I think a bit of both!
I've had 10 segments in the last 6 weeks and haven't had anything noteworthy happen.
If you live in SE Wisconsin, make sure you sign up for their current promotion for a free companion ticket after 5 segments, and call to ask for their elite challenge; I think they offer elite Executive status after a couple of round trips in 90 days. Status will get you 50% bonus miles, a discount rate to join the Best Care Club, access to the elite security line and a few other small perks.

Thanks, MKEbound.
I've had 16 segments on NW over the last 4 weeks, and half of them have been either canceled or delayed more than 1 hour . . . none due to weather.
I actually live in Maine, but am working in Milwaukee for now.
I emailed a status match request to an address I'd found on this forum, but haven't heard anything back yet (Plat on CO for 2 years now). I've already got three round trips booked, the first starting Monday next week.

I flew NW from DTW-MKE last night - 2 hour mechanical delay. In its self, not that note worthy until I mention that EVERY segment I've flow from MKE-DTW or DTW-MKE has been delayed or canceled in the past 6 weeks

Keep in mind that things are also quite due to YX's size. Compare the 2.5 million people Midwest flies are year to other airlines, and that puts them at a rank of something like 30th when compared to all domestic airlines (including regionals)

Not to mention, the frequent flyer program has a lot less complexity than the majors, meaning less need for discussion of alliances, redeeming seats, elite status, etc.
I think the strike is a really good opportunity for Midwest to market itself and increase visibility if handled right. But I also think they've made many mistakes in the past few years, which have come close to sending them down the path of Midway and Vanguard.

Once the OP posted this thread the forum got a lot more active!
To add to it, today YX is announcing new service from MCI:

My bet is that it will be SAN. :)

From what I've seen this week (my maiden round-trip from BOS to MKE), there just isn't anything to whine about. The 717's are fantastic, the flight crew seems to actually enjoy what they do, and they do it very well. Couple that with the fact that everything actually seems to run on-time . . . why the hell was I flying Northwest?
I sure hope they're profitable . . .

In all fairness (gulp, I'm a stockholder, too), YX has its share of delays and cancellations though nothing like what we are seeing with NW (which lies about the extent of the problem).
Interesting, though, the NW (which I must fly because YX simply doesn't have the routes I need) plan to decimate YX by counterprogramming nonstops from MKE simply hasn't worked. Those routes are now mainly served by CRJ's. Would you rather fly YX to, say, DCA, or a CRJ? Enough said.
