Hilton HHonors - Has anyone been charged for day use at a HGI when asking for late checkout?

I stayed at a HGI in Lexington, KY this week, and while looking at my Hilton account noticed that the points awarded were high. I looked at my charge card, and found another $50 charge. I thought someone had billed food to my room, but finally the efolio was available, and found that I had been charged $49 or so for day use of my room.

I had requested a 2pm checkout in the morning, and was told 1:30pm. I have never had a problem getting a 2pm check and said that I'd prefer a 2pm one. The desk person called up to housekeeping, but couldn't get them on their walkie talkie. I told the desk person that if there was a problem, to please call my room.

I called the manager today, but have not gotten a return call yet. I did leave at 2pm, but did not check out downstairs (same mo as usual, I already had the bill in the door thingy).

Bizarre. All HGI stays (4 in past two weeks) - all late checkouts (1 p.m. range) and no extra fees.

I ususally request a 1pm or 1:30pm checkout. So far, I've never been charged and it never seems to be a problem. Maybe, its because it's the slow season in PHX.

Also allowed late check out of 1PM here for my HGI stays. That seems to be the standard late check out time.

I believe that the other poster was referring to their experience in PHOENIX. ;)

I've been allowed 2 and 3 pm check outs at HGI's with lil or no fuss. Most certainly no extra Money...

Weird

Seems like the desk person decided to be antagonistic and told the manager we were there until 5pm. It took a faxed letter, but the charge was taken off.

That's good news - I was wondering how things turned out. ^

Did he ever call you back?

Did he ever call you back?

I got a semi-lame call a few days after faxing the letter. It wasn't very apologetic, just said that "the desk clerk said I was in the room until 5pm".
