Hilton HHonors - Expecting 15K...Got 10K

I got the Hilton Amex Platinum card...on a 15K point promotion, but my account was only accredited 10K...

Any suggestions on who to call? I have a copy of the application stating 15K before I submitted it...

Call HHonors--I had the exact same problem. They told me to fax it in to them (you could probably just fax the application you used with a cover note if you want--their fax number is on the website); it posted within a day or so after I did that.

I'd imagine, should I say willing to bet, I will have the same problem except on the Hh visa. I just rec'd my visa in July, and they said upon the 1st post receive 15K.. However when I called them on it, prior to submitting the application, they said, that you will receive 10K and you have to call for the additional 5 K... whats up with that crap, just give me the 15K at once and save us all a bit of time..... why are the Honors people such a bunch of f*** ups

Has it ever crossed your mind that the problem might just lie with Amex?
A high precentage of my expected bonus points for a wide range of Amex cards including MR and Delta has to be repeatedly chased down to get the proper credit.
Right now none of my HH points for a card I got in April has posted not even the 10k ( I am due the 15k) despite two calls to Amex confirming my HH number etc, last one a week ago they said it would take 5-6 weeks to sort out, yet e-rewards and mypoints post to HH almost immediately. :( hmmm

I also only got 10k. I called and got the extra 5k. A few weeks later got another 5k. I forgot to call again and tell them they gave me too many points. :rolleyes:

My HH Amex points posted just fine...I can't say the same for the Skymiles points though. I had to call Amex three times to get them to post and it took FOREVER!

The problem lies here with American Express not Hilton.They are the ones that made the offer and they are the ones that should have fulfilled on the offer by sending the points /information over to the HH folks correctly the first time around.

If you haven't had the card before (if you have that is sometimes one of the reasons American Express might give you less points on a new enrollment) you are certainly entitled to the offer for which you signed up for.

Simply print copies of the offer you signed up for and send it along to American Express at the Fort Lauderdale adress (gleff on FT posted it recently) which is where the executive assistants solve these kind of issues in a very fair amount of time.
I'll see if I can find his post with the adress after I do a search

If after 30 days the issue has not been fully resolved contact me and I will personally get somebody to post your points at American Express within 72 hours.

I applied and received my HH Platinum Amex last week but didn't relaise there was a 15K promo. Could I call and ask where my other 5k is when my 10k post?

Make sure you get the 5x pts. for charges at Hilton properties. For two years I've had trouble getting them to post and then getting the pts from Amex.

Part of the problem is that bonus points post the month after you get the bill from Amex. Another part of the problem is that you never know exactly what the bonus points were for, since you can get bonus from a variety of businesses.

I finally gave up after many calls to Amex. I'm sure I got some of the points I was missing, but I don't think I got all that I deserved. My main hotel where the points didn't show up was the Conrad Singapore.

I got the card via the HHonors web site link, which was 10k first-purchase plus the 10k first four stays. All of those posted. Now thanks to you folks and an equally nice CS person named "Chad," I am 5k points richer.

just for comparison, i recently signed up for the amex 15k card, and my hhonors account had two credits, one for 10k and another for 5k (i.e. 15k total). but they both were credited the same day, i believe

My AMEX HH card started off with a few starts and fits, but in the end it all settled exactly as they said it would, and though sometimes it takes time, most of the points make it to my account properly.

The occasional problem can occur if a restaurant or other five pointer uses a company name that is not obviously, say, a restaurant. There are a few of these outside of the USA - if there is no previous coding and the "La Parrilla de Vacas Locas" is owned (and credit cards are processed through) "Canijada del Sur, S.A. de C. V." you may have a challenge.

All in all, I have been well served by my HH AMEX card, my points have reached impressive proportions and now I am pressed to do some spending - remember the category change is coming for perhaps a third of HH properties and most, if not all, Scandics.

Just signed up for the 15K card this week. Printed off the registration page clearly stating 15K pts before I submitted. When I get my card, I'll charge it right away and post what happens. If anyone else has gotten this card recently, please post your results too.

Just got my card in the mail Friday, offer enclosed only mentioned 10K, no mention of 15K. Called the Amex CS line and they couldn't find the promo.

Anyone else have this issue?
