Marriott Rewards - Post-midnight check-in results in stay not posting?

I fly into Columbia, SC fairly regularly. The flight is scheduled in about 11pm, but is often late. I stay at the Courtyard Northwest there. Because of the late hour, I end up checking in past midnight. I typically check out the next morning.
It appears that I check in and out on the same day. In those situations credit for my stay never shows up and I end up having to fax in the form and folio.
Does this ever happen to anyone else? Or is there some other reason that stays at this hotel don't always post?

In the last few months I have checked in post-midnight and out by around 7 or 8 am at a few hotels and never had a problem with the stay posting. At minimum, I have done this at the Marriott Seatac (twice), the Marriott Kansas City airport (twice) and Marriott Courtyard Irvine with no problems. All stays posted in the normal timeframe. Have you asked Marriott Customer service or the hotel manager why this is happening?

Not yet, but I will with this request. I do confirm that they have my Marriott number in there correctly. By the time I realize that it may be an issue, I am gone from the hotel.
Thanks for the input!

Renaissance Denver, same problem, i've called numerous times and whats happened according to the plat line the MR web system has problems updating stays as opposed to your point balance which is correct. For me, my Renaissance stay never posted but the points (although the plat amenity didn't post) did and the bonus was that the summer 3stay/5K promo points posted as well although the stay doesn't show online.

It's curious, but after years of no problems, I have had 2 stays at the Fairfield Inn in New Stanton, PA fail to post. All stays were booked ont he Marriott website with my MR # definitely put into the reservation. Very curious and I have no idea as to why.
I'll be faxing them my statement this weekend, but it's a pain to have to do so. Why can't we just call Marriott and have them check the freaking record, fer goodness sake?

I checked out of the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown in late July. Points did not post, so I faxed a copy of the folio to the Marriott Rewards office. The person I spoke to on the phone said he was swamped with faxes and it would take 3 weeks for him to get to mine. I think that's a long time to wait, but appreciated his honesty since I would otherwise be calling to check to see why the points haven't posted yet. Sounds to me like they are short staffed or that posting points is not a priority.

It definitely seems to be specific hotels.. for me its that Dam* Denver Renaissance that never posts.. when it does, I don't get my plat amenity of 500 points so its always this.. copy folio, print stupid stay request form from website for fax number, fax folio and request, call when it still doesn't post, call again when weeks later it posts but plat amenity fails to post, finally, listen to agent say, we apologize mr TH for this.. blah blah blah.. on the other hand, the Fairfield Inn Aurora posts like clock work every time two days after check out.. go figure.. why can't they all be like that, I can't believe the FI is that much better at it than the Renaissance
I've had more problems this year than any with stays not posting. I've had about 4-5 this year, and last year there were only 2 that did not post.
I've found that when I fax in the receipts (if I give them the full 10 days first) the posts usually are on the screen in 2-3 days. If I have to fax in again, I put a note on the fax that this is my second fax, etc. The stay is usually posted immediately after that.
The hotels have varied as to which ones have put the posts up, so I can give no explanation as to why it happens. You would think it would be automatic.

I wonder if the franchise locations are trying to save money? Delay or not post?
The places I stay are like clockwork - Out on Thursday, Posted by the next Tuesday.

I checked this morning and my stay for this past Sunday 8/7 at the Denver Renaissance has not posted, but I did get my total points to increase by the amount that the Den Ren should increase me by which is the base X 10; 30% plat bonus and 500 pt amenity. It seems the points post prior to the stay posting. go figure

I have four stays that have not posted from the Renaissance LAX from early July. I have the folios and all have my Marriott Rewards number correctly recorded. I guess that I have to write a letter and fax it with the folios to the Marriott Rewards to get the nights and points posted.

Interestingly, the only one of my 81 nights year to date that has not posted was one at the Glasgow Marriott where I checked in after midnight for a 1 (very short) nights stay.

A Spring Hill Suites that I stay at fairly regularly knows that I arrive after midnight most times. The night clerk lately has been giving me the first night as a freebie. I don't get credit for that night's stay but I also don't get charged for it so I'm not complaining.
Personally, I think it has to do with them starting the night audit early and a late arrival somehow messes them up.

I only noticed it when I was 1 night short of the next level, but I knew I should be at the higher level. Who knows how many nights I missed before that? I called MR and she called the hotel to confirm the # of nights. Then she said it was an error in the way the hotel entered my stay.
It seems like maybe it's just a training issue. You would think that Marriott could tell all of their hotels how to do it. It probably wouldn't hurt when we check in late evening or after midnight to mention to the clerk, or the manager the next day, to do what they have to in order to get credit. I think what they did for my credit was to enter a 2nd credit with the check-in date the previous day so it was easier for the computer to count, and then they subtracted the original credit.
