I was looking at my statement on line, and I noticed what seemed to be a very large charge for my last stay. When I pulled up the folio, the amount was just what I had expected. However, on the HHonors pages, recent hotel activity, it appeared that I had paid about double what I thought. Naturally, I got points for everything.

I called AMEX, and their automated system indicates that I was charged the normal rate for the room.

So, it appears that Hilton has given me double points for a double charge (I got about 6400 points for the stay from Hilton), but the actual amount I pay is just what I always do.

The net, with booking bonuses, double points, etc. comes in at about 84 points/$

Please make more mistakes like this. :D

Now let us never mention this again, for fear that Hilton might find out.

I got double charged once with a prepaid rate. My HH Amx was charged at booking and again at check-out. The issue was finally resolved after several calls. The extra pts stayed on my HH account! :D

However, keeping the points you know you clearly don't deserve means you abdicate the right to complain and demand restitution the next time they shortchange you. :p
