I was told not to book business class on this flight as it is a small jet of about 50 seats. Iwas glad about this as the fare difference is huge and basically all you get is more food so it would have been an expensive sandwich at 7 am.
I checked in on line the day before after I got an emial from BA to remind me, which was great and I seleceted the emergency exit row as the seats are 2 x 1.
I arrived about 40 mins before the flight and dropped my bag off in the fast bag drop zone and the lady kindly tagged it all the way to Taipei for me.
Although I dont have status with BA she asked if I was likely to be flying again soon and I actualy told her I have started to use BA a lot more than I used to and she invited me to use the lounge but I declined as I thought it would be a waste.
Down at the gate I grabbed a couple of English newspapers for my 14 hour flight to Taipei and I was suprised there was only a few people there, in fact on 10 people boared the flight.
breakfast with hot or cold drinks and I settled into the magazines and newspapers.
A very happy FA greeted us on board and w equickly took our seats and pushed back.
Pre flight safety was very clear and done to make sure even the most hardened travellers took notice which I thought was good. They even pointed out they had new uniforms and make sure you recognise who the FA is.
A quick take off over Cheshire and we were then told the 2 hour flight will be 1hr 10 min today.
We were offered a light
We arrived with such a smooth landing you would not know the wheels had touched the ground. The captain thanked everyone for flying bA and you could tell he meant it.
Again we were all thanked on deplaning and then we were bussed into the terminal.
Overall the quality of BA sines thrugh, even on a small jet and short flight.
The price is excellent and I dont care if I dont earn miles.
I will be booking more flights with BA now as BMI has gone to the dogs and LH is not far behind.
I am now in the Cathay lounge having had a nice refreshing shower and making use of the free computer.
