I did a quick search and only found a few posts that mention this property. I'm wondering how convenient it is to Manchester? I have a meeting in this area but would like to spend a day in Manchester as well. Is it convenient to/from Manchester? To/from the airport? Any comments about the area around the hotel? Many thanks.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times, but wouldn't really consider it very convenient for Manchester. It's situated about 2 miles from Disley and you would need a car as Manchester City centre is about 15 miles away. However, in the morning and evening, traffic to and from Manchester is extremely heavy and it could take quite a while to travel in and out. I think a taxi would be very expensive. There is a railway station at Disley and this may be a better option for travelling into Manchester. Manchester airport is also about 15 miles away.
The hotel itself is okay. It's in a nice location on the edge of the Peak District, with nice scenery around making for a relaxing stay. The hotel has a nice pool and gym. The rooms are comfortable and clean but nothing to get excited about and upgrades to club rooms are a bit disappointing. There's a large free car park. You may be better off trying for the Manchester Airport Hilton if you're flying into Manchester.

I'd agree with Chris - it's a heck of a long way out.
Nice enough hotel, though terrible cell phone reception (at least with Orange - I had to go out into the car park to make calls) and no broadband last time I was there (over a year ago).
Forgot to mention - you usually get woken up by sheep in the morning! The entrance foyer has automatic doors and I even saw one sheep wandering into the hotel one day. This really shows you're out in the country!

If you have some spare time it's a nice Hotel in a pictureseque location. However, If you need convenience for something in Manchester then this is not the place, for the reasons outlined above.
