Signed up for SPG Amex in late May and got my 4,000 1st purchase points early June.

Hi,
My first transaction for the 4,000 point bonus was around May 19th. I called last week and they said they have until my next statement closes (end of July) but it usually doesn't take that long. I will call them if my points do not post by end of July

I got my initial bonus within 3-4 weeks (2 months ago) but still havent had any stay bonuses (1000 for 1st stay, 500 after that I think) post and I must have 6 or 7 stays paid and stayed on my SPG Amex by now...

Got my card end of January. Points only posted in June. I had to call SPG and AMEX numerous times to get the points to post, with each blaming the other. Only got points to post after I threatened to cancel my card.
SPG/AMEX gave me an extra 6000 pts for my troubles. :(

I think this department of AMEX seems have alot to problems!!not like delta and HH, this department does things very slow!

I was shocked to see the points already posted after a weekend stay at the Sheraton Suites Pomona! I checked out Monday AM and it's now Wednesday at 3 AM and all 4k + the stay points have posted. I'm giddy but wondering how I got to lucky.

My points did not post after 3 months, however, I was helped by another FTer to get in touch with the correct people at Amex.
This was after e-mailing SPG 3 times. Each time they said, oh just wait and they'll post. Except for the last e-mail when they finally said - it's out of our hands you need to talk to Amex. (Which I suppose they could have mentioned earlier.)
The problem had already been solved by then. I'm glad this is working out better for others than it (initially) did for me. Maybe they have the system fixed up by now.
