Hi....I'm a week into my 17-week oneworld 220C award trip, currently in Helsinki. Rather than cut and paste to this forum (or wait until it's all finished), I'll post a link to the blog in progress. If anyone is interested in the dull details, you can check it out at:

If you're stopping off in BNE, then let me be the first to say that for all visiting FT'ers who are on crazy trips like this, the friendly BNE FT'ers get together for a FT meet. Hey we'll even shout you a  beer (that'll help the budget!! ^ :D)

I'll be spending more time over the weekend reading the blog in more detail, but sounds like an awesome trip you've planned and are beginning to execute.

That would be a nice welcome...I´d love to meet some Aussie FTérs. I´m only in Brisbane a couple nights, I think around Oct 30 or 31. I´ll send you a PM when the date gets closer.

Nice report!

I especially appreciated your posts on Egypt. It's a wild place... You either love it or hate it. Me, I lived there for a year, and couldn't get enough. Looks like you got the bug too! (Of course, it will be interesting to follow your progress and see if anywhere else trumps it!)

Charles, tried to post a coment in your blog but got the following message:

This blog is in "Emergency Comment Blockage Mode", please come back another time. Your comment could not be added, because comments for this entry have been disabled.

So thought I'd post it here instead:

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I logged in - so over a cuppa here in BNE on a Sat AM, I caught up.

Loved the CAI desert trip details and now the African time. Really looking forward to doing a Kruger trip witH my wife, so looking forward to your next posting.

Disappointing about your timing flying ex-LHR... :( ....then the loss of your ExPlat card... . Hope you can get it replaced before the end of the trip.

Charles, sorry it's been a while since I looked at your blog. Loved the Indian passages (after I have just read Gregory David Robert's Shantaram (http://www.shantaram.com/)). Now looking forward to seeing you in BNE in a couple of weeks...

What a great website!

Thank you very much for sharing all your experiences with us and have a nice remaining trip! As a guy interested in photography, I also enjoy your high-quality artistic pictures!

Great work.

Greetings from Austria,
thomas

captainstubbings, looks like you aren't far from BNE now (can't find you flight schedule anywhere on your blog , but your last blog was from SYD). You said previously that you thought you were going through BNE on 30/31 October.

Now I offered to organise an FT'ers get-together but you need to give me some notice so I can let all BNE-based FT'ers know (the Qantas Forum is excellent for that). We're friendly folj and always looking for an excuse to get-together (as some of us did on Sat night for a BBQ).

I'd presume a beer off the wood and a decent steak (or seafood fresh from Moreton Bay) might be the thing you need to build up your strength for the last part of your journey.

I've also copied this to your blog (but answer me here is better, ot via PM).

Hi there....I sent you an email a couple days back using the link on FT. Did you not receive? I'll send you a private message...

Remiss of me not to post that it was a pleasure to meet up with captainstubings in BNE, along with IainF and braveoecho. Even at short notice, we can pull a FT meet together ^ (we all work in the city).

Had a great meal at a cafe near the Botanical Gardens. Four guys sitting over lunch talking about flying - quite an experience for anybody listening in to our conversation.

Heard he also caught up with meloz, when in SYD.
