Maybe someone can correct me / verify this for me. I seem to remember hearing that SJO service was going to once a week for a few months. skyfly Jul 21, 05, 7:11 pm I am an employee with HP. A couple of months ago HP decided to temporarily reduce the flight schedule for SJO starting in Sept. I don't remember offhand, but I believe they will have Sat. service only for most of Sept and partly in Oct. Then will add 2 or 3x times weekly, then either by end of this year or by early next year they will have a daily service again. I am not sure the reasoning other than its offseason for SJO and the loadfactor does not justify the daily service during this period. On a seperate note, HP apparently is having problems with weight restrictions for flights departing SJO due to wind conditions. HP has been advising its employees (as employees fly standby based on seat availibility) to have back up plans for travel out of SJO even if flights are departing with seats open because of weight restrictions. They have even been bumping regular paying passengers. Also, other airlines are expericing the same problems. I myself have not traveled to SJO even though I would love too. I am curious if any other persons had any experiences being bumped due to weight restrictions? flyboy7974 Jul 23, 05, 6:08 am i have heard that as well about sjo, that weight restrictions leave stand bys behind for days. during sept, all flight schedules are subject to heavy reductions, then come oct, flights are back on. every airline does this as sept is one of the worse travel months |
