Based on what Ive read at airliners.net. Can anyone confirm this?
Independence Air will discontinue service to San Jose in September. They will instead focus on San Francisco as their sole Bay Area airport. This also will lead to some other changes on the east coast. Starting in September, Boston will become an all-Airbus city with five daily A319's. Jacksonville will also receive two daily A319's a day in addition to their CRJ flights.
The change in Boston will only add 14 daily seats but will save around $600,000 a month in operating costs.

Check the website and you'll see the September changes in effect (BOS to 5 R/Ts, SJC discontinued, etc.)
Cheers.

Also, folks, please take a look as some schedule changes have been made, effective in September. For example, in addition to the SJC cut, SFO will return to two flights daily.
Cheers.

That is what we have been told. The changes are due to anticipated low bookings in September being the second slowest month for air travel (January is first). In addition to the SJC, BOS, JAX airbus changes a number of cities will loose one or two round trips for the month of September.

GSO seems to stay at 4 flights in Oct. too, is that a permanent change?

SJC was cut not because of low load factors, but rather low yields. SFO tended to attract the last minute Y fares, while the SJC flights tended to fill up the cheaper sale fares.
Word has it here at SJC, the last DH flight we'll be working is on September 4th.
Sad to see 'em go. :(

Odd, because I'd expect the tech geeks heading out to the bay area to fly into SJC. Fares are probably held lower because Southwest goes into SJC whereas SFO is the higher fare airport and also allows for the international connections.
