Sorry if this has already been discussed-i did a search and couldn't really find anything...
What is the Usairways "code" for Dividend Mile Upgrade seats. I am flying next week and have been searching flyaow for availability and it still shows F9, but is there a different code for upgrade seats? Also, what is the code for standard award seats? Thanks for any help.
P.S. All of my US flights recently have been excellent, kudos to the entire Usairways workforce for, I hope, turning this airline around.

Standard first class awards (which is what I'm assuming you're looking at since you quoted the F fare bucket) come out of the O bucket, which isn't publicly listed. You'd have to try to book it by logging into your account on usairways.com and choosing to redeem miles, and see if it shows available there.
You could also use a premium award (90000 miles for domestic first), which uses inventory from the F bucket.

One other thing. Your profile says US elite, so you could grab a coach premium award (50000 mi), which comes out of Y inventory, then upgrade to first immediately using your unlimited preferred e-upgrades, so long as P inventory is available. The P bucket is published.

I just booked 2 Premium Coach Awards and was told the only way to get first was to keep checking and if First became available ( Non Premium ) I would need to cancel and rebook. Your way sounds better. I am Gold so I may be OK without the First Awards Opening up.
Are you sure I can just upgrade and how many days before the trip?

Premium awards can be upgraded upon booking them based on P bucket availability. So as long as the P bucket has a few "seats" available then you can upgrade anytime.
AKA do it now rather than later. :D

Called this AM and was told I had to upgrade with miles. That did not make sense but she put me on hold and supposedly talked to someone ( which I doubt ) and came back with the same answer. :td:

Check out this (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=355567) thread. If you are elite, premium awards are immediately upgradeable into P. The only reason you would have to use miles is if you're flying Transatlantic, or you aren't Silver, Gold, or CP.

I booked a 25k reward flight from CHA to LAS back in December for flight in March, and then plans changed and I didn't use the award. I was told at the time that I could reuse it for any other flight between now and Dec. for a $50 change fee.
Would my SP e-upgrades work for that ticket the same way they would for a normally-purchased flight (i.e. one day out) or is the process different for a reward ticket?
I'm trying to nail down a time this fall to go out there and was curious.

25,000 mile "Standard" awards aren't upgradeable. Sorry. The miles can be redeposited for a $50 fee, and rebooked using a 50K mile Premium award if you really want the upgrade.
**Just noticed you are trying to fly to LAS...in my experience, P availability is usually zeroed out well in advance of the flight. An F award might be your best bet, if you can find availability.

25k award tickets cannot be upgraded.
The only way to get an upgrade on an award ticket is to purchase a FC award, purchase a premium coach award and have P availability, or have very good luck with an op-up.

Yeah, As I thought about it, I realized that trying to upgrade on a flight to Vegas is sort of an academic question anyway. That's okay, I fully plan to be sleeping on the flight back, wide seat or no. :)
Thanks for the info! FT has taught me more in a month than I have figured out on my own in 10 years.

If you are Chairman's you won't be charged a $50 fee. You can book and cancel and book again as many times as you need to.

Correct. *I* can redeposit for free, jaymay (the person I was responding to) as well as any other Gold or Silver elite can redeposit for $50, and all non-elites are chargeed $75.

so now here is another question. what about upgrades from non-award tickets (purchased with $$) is there a fare bucket for the unlimited e-upgrades?

Upgrades from the non-refundable, value-oriented tix come from the E bucket (unpublished), while it is the P bucket, as an earlier poster indicated, for the higher fares like Y/B
