Generally, is there a way to figure out how many preferred miles you are earning? I don't see a way to figure this out on-line. When I click on "Preferred Miles" when looking at my on-line statement, it just takes me to a general explanation of how many preferred miles it takes to get to Silver, Gold and CP.

I recently purchased a round-trip F ticket PHL-TPA (fare class A). My understanding is that I am supposed to get double miles toward preferred status for this flight. My miles for the first leg of this round-trip flight have posted, and the entry shows 920 actual miles and 460 bonus miles (for the 150% award travel bonus for F tickets), for a total of 1,380 award travel miles. That's fine -- but I have earned 2,380 preferred miles since my last statement, and I can't tell what they're counting in addition to the 920 miles for the first leg of PHL-TPA. I have other entries for Visa purchases, Hertz rental and online booking/check-in, and the math just doesn't seem to work out. Any help would be appreciated (btw - I tried to do a search for help before posting but didn't find anything).

You probably got the 1000 mile online booking bonus (the promotion where the booking bonus counts toward preferred status).

920 x 150% = 1380 miles + 1000 booking bonus = 2380.

Do you have 2 lines that look like this:

31-MAY-05 ONLINE BOOKING BONUS 0 1 1
31-MAY-05 ONLINE BOOKING BONUS 0 1,000 1,000

When you buy A fares you get a 200% credit towards preferred miles and 150% toward reward miles. The extra preferred miles have never showed up on my statement but are included in the year to date. The 150% toward reward miles shows up on my statement.

PBI guy is correct in speculating about the on line bonus. Yet, you should have earned more preferred miles than you realized. Check last months statement and this months.

I just have to keep up with the preferred miles on a spreadsheet to ensure I get all the miles credited properly.
