US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Stop the PIT Whining, Already, Yet, Move on With Your Life

I just finished reading a reply that again brought up PIT in a topic that had nothing to do with PIT. It happens everyday.

Let's put PIT behind us.

I know for one who enjoyed flying to PIT that I wish US hadn't abandoned it, but the constant whining about it, isn't going to bring it back or make PHL better.

Bad weather in PHL--PIT would be our savior-- like PIT does not have snow storms or thunderstorms
Baggage problems in PHL--like a bag was never lost at PIT--they lost my luggage there on a nonstop from PIT to ABE-- not even a connection
Dirty terminal--it's cleaner in PIT--that one's true :)

PIT is no longer in the center of the US universe--PHL and CLT are and we should live with it. I envision ten years from now the PIT supporters will still complaining for what may have been and actually never was.

You see things in rose colored glasses. I was stranded in PIT. I had a rude GA at PIT. I had delayed flights in PIT. They lost luggage in PIT (routed it through PHL and got it two hours later). Really other than a nice facility, it wasn't a whole lot different than PHL based on my experience.

Stop the whining, already, yet. It won't do any good and besides how is that constructive. I know I am tired of it and assume others are as well.

So PIT supporters now you can flame me. But afterwards how about only talking about PIT when PIT's in the discussion.

I had one of my worst airline experiences ever with a UsAir PIT PSS. I even remember the full name, but I won't post it :). I have yet to have a terrible experience at PHL. I agree that PIT was a shiny new nice facility, but like post#1 says, a lot of things are just based on one's own arbitrary anecdotes and experiences. Actually come to think of it I am thinking of one story now where I did get lucky in PIT, but it was due to a problem that had already happened earlier on in the trip and PIT saw the notations in the record about what happened earlier and allows something unusual to go because of what happened early. Does it get any vaguer? :)

But I don't really miss PIT much, and I didn't especially love or hate it or feel any nostalga about it, and it was not a facility I used much.

The last time I conx via PIT in summer of 04, it seemed like a quiet ghost town, and it was kind of sad.

Agree completely. If US no longer works for you because of it's new route structure, it's time to find another airline, not continuously bring up what might have been. FWIW, the weather forecast for PIT is calling for thunderstorms for 4 out of the next 10 days.

Agree completely. If US no longer works for you because of its downgraded first class product, it's time to find another airline, not continuously bring up what might have been.

Seems lately this place is only for complaining. I have no issue with constructive complaining for example if US management does something dumb or if something bad happens at PHL but the blanket whining like silly little school girls adds nothing to the debate. Yes, US management has done many many stupid things but they are not the devil. Yes, this are negative issues at PHL but the place is not Hell. Yes, PIT is a nice airport but it is not Heaven. By claiming any of these only weakens your argument to sound like propaganda. I point to FFOCUS, "US Workers are all Great and US Management is all bad" or as the OP hinted at that many post with the bias, "PHL is worse than Hell and PIT is the answer to all flying problems". Silly!

As also correctly noted by the OP, to those of you who will start to flame with comments such as Trolls, etc. just know that by doing so you only prove your smallness and unwillingness to engage in real debate. Just because some Moderators are even your willing partners in this type of exchange - it still does not make it right.

Well, the odds of having a thread where the OP says "Quit your whining" and "flame away" and the last poster says "trolls, smallness and the moderators are in on it" remain open are zero.

(moderator hat off)

I'm amused that two of the posts in this thread want to accuse other people of "not engaging in real debate." Given the topic and tenor of this thread, that's the funniest thing I've read all week.

(moderator hat back on again)

You want to start a "consolidated PIT complaint thread?" That would work. Suggesting that members quit whining when you happen to disagree with their position? Probably not such a winning idea.
