US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Has anyone experienced US's new service to VCE?
Just completed a search and didn't find anything. I was wondering if anyone can comment on the new service to VCE since its launch. I heard the aircraft is not that good (B767), but what about the service and food? Is it typical of US (poor FA attitudes and so-so food)? What about entertainment? Thanks in advance.

It is the standard Envoy/economy service that is on every other transatlantic flight. It is on the 767 which some say isn't as nice as the A330 (I agree on this). However, I tend to disagree about the typical "poor" attitude of US f/a's. :( Venice is going very senior, so the flights are staffed with very experienced f/a's but that doesn't equate to their attitude. Some of the most senior f/a's have the best attitudes out there!

I concur. I find the typical US FA (and many other frontline people) to be excellent.

My sister just got back from VCE via US Airways. Flew on BA over. Both flights were in Y and on 767's. According to her, the difference between US (or most other US based carriers) and BA is night and day. BA had PTV's, Free Alcohol with food, and a Free amenity kit. But the one that really gets me is that US charges $5 for headsets in coach. I have my ANC headphones, so I would have been fine, but that is a bit much. Main-screen TV stinks (very hard to see in the aisle with people getting up, versus the drop-down screens on the A319, A320, etc.) I will give US credit though for having VOD on the A330. I think that NW is the only other US based carrier with this feature. Transferring in PHL was actually a breeze though according to her. GA got her on an earlier flight, and bypassed the re-check line.
Nothing against US (or any other US based carrier), but given that the International flights are their bread and butter ($1000 minimum RT Y in summer), they should spend a few extra $$$ to make their service equal to their international counterparts. I always choose AF, BA, VS, QF, CX, NZ, etc. when I fly internationally for this reason.

Wow! Is that right?? I thought US only charges on domestic flights!! It also charges on transatlantic flights?? Now, that's cheap! I can understanding if you are charging for alcohol (which it does, and as do all US based airlines), but for headsets?? I guess I better bring my own on board as I don't know what I would do for 7 or 8 hours on board. So much for being loyal to Star (how did US get accepted into Star in the first place with such substandard products?).
