WOW -- that was a fast reply, haha. Yeah, it's for a new iMac: I checked their website and they say: "8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) installed; writes DVD+R DL discs at up to 2.4x speed, writes DVD-R and DVD+R discs at up to 8x speed, writes DVD-RW and DVD+RW discs at up to 4x speed, reads DVDs at up to 8x speed, writes CD-R discs at up to 24x speed, writes CD-RW discs at up to 8x speed, reads CDs at up to 24x speed" so I guess it's off to Best Buy when they open and time to buy overpriced double layered DVD-R DL discs, whoo hoo. Now if I could only get Safari to let me print out my Best Buy Rewards Zone gift certificates i'd be all set....

Whether or not isn't whats important what is important is whether there is decent cost effective fast media available and there is NOT.

Don't think DVD-R DL will work....you should get some DVD+R DL instead.
