My son says his friend uses it to record streaming media by connecting it to the earphone port on his laptop?

Total Recorder records streaming media through your PC. It's not the Pogo product but if you want to record streaming media, it works well.

There are 4 or 5 programs out there for a Mac to record streaming audio, think there should also be some for PC's
