Travel Technology - Think Outside Bluetooth keyboard and mouse - some daft questions

I'm thinking of getting these to use with my hx4700 Pocket PC and have a couple of daft questions:

i) Can I use them both at the same time on my Pocket PC's Bluetooth connection?

ii) If I'm using the keyboard and mouse (assuming they both work together), would this stop me from connecting to the Internet via Bluetooth using a suitable mobile phone?

Regards
I

Yes, they both work at the same time, used them like that many times.

Shouldn't be a problem, Bluetooth is fairly low speed, but even on my Desktop PC I'm using 4 BT devices at the same time. Only issue I could see is with the CPU speed of the device, but on the 4700 that probably won't be a problem...

Once again, thanks. Time to throw some more money at Expansys.

Check out Thinkoutsides own website, they were having a deal with a "buy a keyboard get a free mouse", though I don't know if they ship to Blightly...

EDIT: nevermind, deal seems to be gone already :(

I still think this is the coolest bluetooth keyboard. I've never used one, so I don't know how well it works, but it looks interesting.

The only cool thing about those keyboards are the looks. Other than that it is without a doubt the worst possible keyboard in the world.

Before you buy it, pretend your desk is a keyboard and start tapping away at it for 5 minutes (if you even survive that long). There IS a reason keyboard have buttons that spring up and down. Tapping on a piece of wood is not good for you.

It doesn't work well in bright places, misses about half your keystrikes and has unreliable Bluetooth.

so, this is exactly what I tried to do a couple of times with my 5555, and a BT keyboard, mouse and dialup.

To be honest, I stopped using the mouse almost immediatly, since I found even on a keyboard stand it was easier to use the stylus instead of the mouse. And, when travelling, (with the keyboard) I didn't want to carry the mouse. But, what I found was indeed, of course as ScottC has noted, the various BT protocols for all these devices are unique and will work in parrallel, I even had my BT GPS running as well. But, BUT I found the BT throughput or the processing speed of all that data coming through the BT stack was too much in the end. I ramped up the memory available for everything pretty high, 70-80 MB of the total 128 available, but even then things just started to bog down.

So, I killed the mouse. It could have been that the mouse, not a thinkoutside product had a bad driver or required too much bandwidth, but when running GPS, dial up modem and keyboard everything was fine and I could even ratchet down the memory again.

HTH

I tried this one oh bout two years ago at CES, then it never came out, then it finally came out at 249.99. I think this pricing is a discount. I would never buy one of them,

nuff said.

I would think that using this keyboard would be less productive since you lose the "feel" of the keys. Therefore, you'll spend more time looking at the keyboard itself instead of the screen.

My new keyboard arrived today and I had it fully configured and working in minutes so most impressive! I've had a similar stowaway type keyboard for my old Handspring Visor so I'm vaguely familiar with typing on it. The overall design has improved though so it's quite a bit thinner when folded.

I didn't bother ordering the mouse (yet) as I wanted to see if a combination of keyboard and stylus was good enough first (and it is so I'll probably not bother).
