I am visiting Japan. I want to know if electronic devices work in Europe: cameras. Will a cell phone bought in Japan work where I live (Spain)?

Thanks for all comments

As far as i know japan has there own cell network. So no keeping the cool phones. Which sucks. Spain uses GSM, 1800 I think. Why not just get a sharp 902 from vodafone? Cameras work, but since japan has US style wall plugs you will of course need the plug adapter.

The only type of Japanese cell phone that has a ghost of a chance of working elsewhere is one from KDDI, which is a CDMA service provider. However, that "elsewhere" would only be Korea or the U.S.

Japan uses U.S. style wall plugs but has lower voltage (100v) and some parts of Japan are 50hz. So you need to make sure your camera charger is autoranging or it might be blown away elsewhere if it is designed just for Japan.

Eventually, 3G phones from all 3 operators may work elsewhere, but not yet.
