Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Rant: viewing of bare feet close to your head

I was on a window seat of the upper deck of the 747 and the guy behind me decides to place his feet on the side storage area which when I'm in the sleeping position means his feet is directly to the left of my head which doesn't make for pleasant viewing. In this case, even after I politely ask him to not place his feet there, he feels that placing a blanket over his feet is enough remedy. One of the FA's had to tell him twice before he got the message. It's similar on the NBC seats when pple decide that the back of your seat is a great place to rest their feet so that when you are lying down and looking up, you have a direct view of the back of their feet.

How do you normally tell such ppl that they should either have some consideration for others or pay for 1st class/private jet if business class is not adequate length for them?

This is quite difficult.. I would imagine you could ask him to use socks provided (does CX even still provide socks in their C class amenity kits?)

I think they do, but IIRC, what flimsy socks. I wouldn't be surprised if unattractive toes poked through the fabric very easily. :p ;)

If there is an empty seat behind the inconsiderate passenger, move there, then place your feet up over his head like he did to you.

An eye for an eye, a stinky feet for a stinky feet.

This reminds me of a rather hilarious episode. I was sitting on aisle seat and next to me was a lady at window seat (did not know her). Cannot remember where I was off to though and it might not have been CX. This might have been a domestic flight so seats were narrower albeit in business class.

There appeared on the armrest area between the two of us a stocked foot - not a nice sight at all. I noticed it first. The lady next to me asked the stewardess nicely to talk to the passenger behind us but to no avail. My neighbour swatted the toes gently with her book and it came back within 3 seconds.

Then we ate. My neighbour must have retained a fork since she poked the toes, jabbed would have been a more apt description, I guess.

End of problem.

I find that in these situations, taking a few seconds to let the offending passenger know verbally and civilly of your discomfort about a situation that he/she has created is infinitely better than nonverbal and hostile actions because the latter would only provoke and make him/her entrench his/her position. Second choice for me is to get the FAs involved.
