Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - 'No flight is available. Please modify the dates of your trip.' (moved from KL)

After you've checked award availability (like looking for a needle in a haystack) and selected the flights, this message comes up:

No flight is available. Please modify the dates of your trip.

I've tried numerous times for different dates aand different destinations, but I've never got beyond this message.

While I can just about accept the first part of the message - nothing is available - what does the second part mean, if it means getting the same answer all over again (as it does :( )?

Has anybody successfully made an award booking with FB?

This message comes up if the selected flight has no availability online, even if other flights that day are open.

I was successful booking such a flight on the phone with FB (after 6 calls, ~30 minutes). On the other hand, another flight which was available online was deemed to require Opti-miles on the phone.

My France-based agent, while helpful and thorough, did not offer any KL flights until asked. Surprisingly, taxes on this Asia-GVA routing were about half as high through AMS compared with CDG.

Thanks, monahos.

I wondered if that was the case. The problem is that I got the same response when I tried the other flights which were offered, also on other dates.

First problem: find (theoretical) availability, which is difficult enough as most dates are not available.

When you do find (theoretically) available dates and select the flights offered, they are not available.

Looiks like a phone call is needed - and we no longer have the 0800 number :( .
