For some reason, people who are from out of town absolutely love Savino's

Funny you say that, many of the people who I travel with to El Paso also love Savino's. Food is better than any that I had in Rome (of course I was only really there for a day)

I also like "The Italian Kitchen", I think I am one of 6 non-locals who know the places exists. I only have been to Cappeto's 1-2 times. Many people I know like it, but it did not do much for me.

Still waiting for your Juarez list :D

Pretty hard to beat Leos. Fortis is good. Happy times at Ardovinos in Sunland. I love La Posta...overhyped...overpriced...and GREAT.

jfe: Know a place now known as "The Old Place by the Graveyard" ? More or less Missouri and Copia. Previously known as Tonys since prohibition days.

Anyone know what happened to The Charcoaler? Adrovinos on Cincinnati St. near TWC, excuse me...UTEP ?
Other favorites were Heinz, Chelsea at Montana, all the Roosters and Oasises. Now the true test....anyone remember pizza at Swanky Franky on Dyer St. or burritos at the Clock?

GO MINERS, GO ROCKETS

Any one ever tried The Little Diner (http://www.littlediner.com/)? Not a bad little place if you can find it :)

I think you're right.

Ever been there?

I grew up there about two nights a week in the late 40's, 50's and 60's. Went back many times on visits later. I think Tom Wolfe said it already, "You can't go home again."

Charcoaler is still there, but their burgers gave me heartburn once :o

Never made it to the L&J cafe, maybe one of these days

Little dinner is my sister-in-law's favorite. A good place to go if your cholesterol count is way too low :D
