For anyone interested, it is widely known that US has long assigned its charter flights the 9000 series flight numbers. These are all visible on sites like flytecomm.com or flightview.com as regular flights.

You will need to uncover the flight numbers themselves from another source and that can be difficult. Only a small number of scheduling and operations personnel have access to those flight specifics (not b/c they are secret, but b/c they hardly affect regular ops in any way). Regardless, if you have a contact within US ops, they may be of help to you.

Charters going through PHL will sometime show on the airport flight info boards (and thus on phl.org) with their 9000 series flight numbers, but don't appear with the destination. I've never looked one up on the usairways.com flight status page, so I don't know if they display or not. I suppose if I were the one chartering the plane I wouldn't want it to.

The thing that I am curious about is with the limited amount of aircraft they have now there just can't be too many chartered flights I would think. I am surprised that they had any at all especially now that they are giving back aircraft over this past year.

Bear in mind that the charter flights pay well, and are not all on the big equipment. Even the sports teams typically only require a 757 at the most (unless it's a playoff scenario).
