Hertz - problem keeping #1 club gold after quitting job

Apparently my job from 2 years ago gave my Hertz #1 Club Gold because upon picking up my car this weekend, they had a #1 Club Gold number for me in their database. I didn't figure out that this was probably from my old job till I was in the car away from the counter.
Anyway, I'm wondering, is there a problem with keeping my number even though I'm not at the same job? Or do I need to notify Hertz? Any thoughts/experiences? Thanks!

My #1 Club Gold number was created when I started with my first job out of college. I left that job 3 years ago, but my number stayed the same. The corporate CDP is still defaulted in my profile, although I almost always replace it with something else to lower the rate. (The benefit with my old corporate CDP was the insurance coverages, and I'm fairly certain that those would be denied if I ever attempted to make a claim on them.)
My gut feeling is that you won't lose gold status. I got mine free about 10 years ago from a credit card affiliation. I never lost my gold status even though I dropped the card, and went several years without renting from Hertz.
About 5 years ago, Hertz solicited me to enroll my small 2 person company in their business account program (free). One of the things they sent me was a free gold membership signup packet for an employee, and instructions to sign up additional employees online.

To be honest, my wife has maintained Gold Status and hasn't rented anything in two years (she's either traveled with me, or to places like NYC where she doesn't get a car).

I would make sure the old company CDP was removed from your profile. I would strongly recommend this if your company had things like insurance coverage included with their rates.

OK, that is what I was most afraid of, the insurance stuff. Thanks for the advice - I'll call Hertz!

No problem...
FYI: You can just update your profile online in the Affiliations section to remove the CDP.

My company no longer has Hertz on its preferred list. We have rented under my husband's gold for the last trips we have taken. When I rented last week, I logged into my gold account and made the reservation. Nothing indicated to me that I was no longer gold status. When I got to the lot, my name was not on the board and I learned that my reservation was not gold. I was fortunate that a very helpful employee helped me and I was quickly on the road.

Same feeling here. And then again. The basic Gold card doesn't give you a lot of extras (esp. here in Europe), except for the pre-preparation, which in my opinion makes life easier and cheaper for Hertz (bulk-preparations of contracts is faster than someone on the counter asking all silly kinds of questions).
At the end of the day... life is simpler for both parties. Why would they take it away?
(How is it with 5* and PC -- do they demote those levels every year?)

I am not sure what happend, but I don't think the gold statuts just goes away.
If you log on to Hertz.com (http://Hertz.com) does it still say Hertz #1 Club Gold under your name?
Also, take a look at the reseveration for something like counter service.

If you don't make the requirements (10 rentals for 5*, 40 rentals for US PC, 20 Rentals for CA PC) then you get demoted.

You should go to the Hertz site, log in and look at
-Personal Data for Company Name
-Affiliations for CDP
You can still be Hertz #1 Club Gold, but you may better change the COMPANY and CDP.
I still have a (very old) Hertz (VIP Club Credit) card from my old job saying:
Rates:
Ger - 25%
Eur - 25%
USA- 35%
CAN- 30%
Int - 25%
Insurance free. Do I use the old CDP? NO, NO, NEVER!
BTW, I use Hertz now very seldom, often Hertz is twice the price than National, etc.
