Hilton HHonors - Hiltons- any of them habitually late opening for breakfast?

I tried to partake of the breakfast at the BWI HGI this morning at 7:05 am (their opening time is 7 am) right before rushing off to the airport, but I was slightly peeved to see that _nothing_ had been set out yet. I couldn't wait since I had to head on over to the airport.

No big deal, but it got me wondering - are there certain Hilton hotels (not just HGI's) any of you have found are habitually late opening for breakfast?

Would you prefer their breakfast opened on time, at a scheduled 8am start?

For me if I know I have an early start I dont count on getting brekkie at the hotel.

I've seen a lot of properties (not just HGI) that were late, but these were ones that start at 5am or 6am. 7am is pretty late to get started in my opinion, especially for an airport property.

What's worse is a late van driver for an airport property :)

I don't understand why this is the alternative. How about opening on time, at a time that makes sense for travelers?

I would prefer them to open when they say they are going to open, that's all.

It's a small issue, to be sure, but it does occasionally negate one of the more-appreciated benefits (for me, at least) of being an elite member in the Hilton Honors program.

I, too, don't count on getting breakfast if I've got an early start (which is why I was only slightly peeved). Better luck next time.

I can't recall which ones have left me a bit peeved, but you are right - it is an irritant when you have a plane to catch or the like, and the restuarant is still dark (happened to me once) or they are halfway to being organized and there is nothing to eat for a while.

Every Hilton I have ever stayed at in DE was late with Breakfast. If it was open, it was only half ready.

I think you are being extremely kind and forgiving. If an establishment says they open at 7am, then they should be ready to provide full service no later than 6:59am. Anything less is poor or indifferent service! Esp. if you are refering to an Executive Lounge that is targeted at loyal or higher paying customers.

I absolutely agree 100%

My faves are those that set out coffee, breads and fruit hours BEFORE they are supposed to open! ^ (Istanbul sets sets out these thigs for early departures, before the Club Lounge opens.) And I think I read one FTer here saying they delivered a hot brekkies to the room for an early departure? :-:

I agree 7 am is too late - they should open no later than 6 am with at least the continental part.

It was not a Hilton property, but at a hotel in Bangkok, after I asked for a 3:30 am wake up call and a 4:30 taxi to the airport, they offered to have coffee for me at 4:15 am. Great. When I went to get my coffee, I was greeted by a staff of 3 that had prepared a five course breakfast!
