With all the schedule changes that have been occuring lately I have made it a habit to check my upcoming trips on Virtually There every Sunday since schedule changes are loaded on Saturday. Today when I checked I noticed that on my upcoming LAS trip my seat was changed from 2D to 2A on one leg. Mrs. dukeman is sitting in 2F, so I called the CP desk. Now, I'm not 100% sure I got a CP agent on the phone because I mentioned the flight and date in question and the agent asked my name. I've never been asked my name before as it should pop up on the agent's computer after I enter my DM# and PIN. I inquired about the seat change, and I asked if I was moved for an FAM, and was told the remarks in my PNR were "passenger's seat was relocated for a government official on official business." The agent then said -- "Yup you were moved for an Air Marshal." I asked if there were 2 other seats together I was told no, but to try at check-in. I was surprised that the agent was so honest! I may switch with Mrs. dukeman and try to chat-up the agent..... I'll post back after the trip......And for others on the 757 don't select 2D (I didn't have a choice when I booked as 2D and 2F were the only 2 together).....

Had the same thing happen coming back from STT. We were originally in 2ACD. Found ourselves in 1F, 2AF. The pre-boarded male/female couple in 2CD were well dressed in their polyester clothes and dress shoes while the rest of us looked (and smelled) like tourists. Obviously keeping us safe from drunks going back to CLT.

Officially, the agent really is not supposed to reveal that type of information.

I understand that hence the post. I was surprised they even told me that it was for "official government business."

Since the reason did not mention an air marshall, why can't an agent quote the reason? By the reason alone, it might have been Tom Delay and his entourage or some other "official business"? Why would that be unreleasable?

I guess the good news is now the marshals are allowed to take girlfriends to LAS for the weekend, polyester and all.
