US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - An Excellent Little Trip!

Thought I'd post this for grins. Given all the bad stuff that's gone on, I thought a good story was in order. Booked a quick trip to RDU from DCA this weekend. I took CLT connections both ways in an effort to boost my segments, and as luck would have it, the schedules just worked better than the nonstop options anyway.

But the F/A's on these short little flights this weekend were just teriffic. Turns out, the # 1 on my DCA-CLT leg on Friday night lived about 5 miles from my hometown in NC! She was just great... kept the drinks full, and was so friendly and attentive that I hardly noticed the plastic cup for my wine. :D I emailed US from the CLT club about her.

On the short flight from CLT to RDU, the F/A's were just as good. The # 2 helped out up front to make sure everyone got at least 2 refills. These 2 ladies were just wonderful. As I was boarding my return last night, I was thinking to myself that I needed to send an email to US about the 2 ladies on my flight the night before. Imagine my surprise as I boarded to find the same 2 F/A's! More wonderful service. They made a point of remembering me from the night before, right down to my choice of drinks. Needless to say, US now has another note from me about these 2 F/A's.

With the exception of the 733 from RDU to CLT, the a/c were as clean as any I've been on lately. And my upgrades managed to clear on all 4 segments. All in all, a good experience.

I had a similar experience this weekend on a trip from GSO to DCA. The CLT-DCA part of the trip (flight 250) was great. The FA actually shook my hand, introduced hereself by name and welcomed my aboard. Nearing arrival, she thanked my for flying with them and wished my a great weekend. Drinks and the snack basket were offerered on numerous occassions. Three of the four segments were in FC and were great. The last was on an RJ and even it was a good flight. It is nice to see that people CAN make a big difference.

On a sidenote at DCA this morning as I approached the USAirways security area, I noticed a lot of activity and people moving around. I spotted a young man in a suit with an earpiece in his ear; standing next to him was good old William Jefferson Clinton. The former President was posing for pictures, signing autographs and having a great time as people were going by. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and he seemed to go out of his way to accomodate everyones request. I thought he might go up to the club but I guess he mingled until departure time.
