Hi folks,
I'm currently at Gold Preferred status and have currently flown 33 segments and about an equal number of preferred miles. I estimate I'll probably rack up about another 20 segments this year and perhaps 25-30K more preferred miles. So, I expect I'll fall well short of CP status but probably will hit GP for the year.
Is there any advice on how to hit CP status this year? Most of my trips are PHL-BOS, PHL-PIT, PHL-ORD and only have perhaps 1 - 2 trips west scheduled this year to really rack up miles. Any advice on how to work the system is appreciated. I do have the Visa Signature card and may be able to hit the 15K mile incentive, but not sure...
Any advice on how to maximize miles is appreciated.

First let me point out that the Signature Visa is only 10K preferred for $25K in purchases. Don't even get me started on the fact that all the printed materials last year said 15K. If you think you can spend $50K get a 2nd Visa and once you hit $25K on one switch to the other and that could get you 20K EQMs.
Unfortunately it appears that you have short-haul routes and you are flying from PHL so you can usually take a non-stop. First you should decide whether you are likely to hit via segments or miles, then plan a strategy accordingly. You can go on a few MRs for either segments or miles and you can try adding additional legs to your trips (i.e. PHL-CLT-ORD) for both miles and segments. I'm sure others here will have some other ideas. Also, stay tuned in case US offers some double or triple preferred bonuses in the Fall.

Call the Dividend Miles Service Center and ask them if you could have a CHP challenge. You'll probably have to fly 25,000 mile or 25 segments in a quarter. Of course you still have to qualify this year for next in order to maintain the status, but all the miles you earn during a potential challenge will qualify for next year.
