Asia - Video cameras?

Hopefuly we will be visiting Beijing in October. I want a new DV camera so would I save much by waiting until I get there (coming from the UK) or doesn't it make a great deal of difference anymore?

except for hk, china isn't a great place to buy electronics (it's not bad either) so there's really no point in waiting.
