US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - US/UA question not answered in FAQ

Last week I was flying US from CVG-MCO. It was a USAir ticket with my UA number in it. CVG-CLT was very late so US rebooked me on DL ( we wont mention the fact that when I got over to the DL counter I had not actually been rebooked). My question is - who do I call - UA or US to get the miles as originally booked credited to my UA account. This was on US ticket stock and not a "cheapie" ticket.

UA. US has no access to your Mileage Plus account and therefore could not credit the segments to you.

I would have said US. Its a US ticket on US metal, US did the booking and the rebooking, UA is just the miles account listed. If I credited the miles to LH, would I call LH for a USAir ticket rebooking? Doubt it.

I don't know how US would credit you UA miles, but that's who I would call.

Yes, you would call LH.

Definitely start with UA since that's where the miles were to be credited. You will probably need to fax them a copy of the receipt for your original travel (showing the US flights), a letter explaining the rebooking issue, and a copy of the DL BPs.

You shouldn't have any problems, and if you've got a DL account, you should be able to earn miles there as well ;)
