Transatlantic flight AMS-DTW is operated by NWA. There is availability in the V booking class.

Which of the following determines how many miles will be credited to my FB account:
1) Who operates the flight (NW)?
2) Whether I book it as NW39 or KL6039?
3) Whether I book it on the NWA site or the KLM site?

Looking at the FB rules on the KLM web site, I find that:

--- QUOTE KLM site
Flying Blue members can earn Miles on all NW-operated flights with a SkyTeam prefix.

You earn:
Economy Class: 100% of your actual flown miles
Business Class: 150% of your actual flown miles
First Class: not available

The following booking classes are excluded for earning Miles: D and W class; V class for 25% accrual only.
--- END quote

So my conclusion is: it is determined solely by who operates the flight (option 1), and I will accrue 25% of actual flown miles.

Am I seeing it right?
What about KL-operated V class mileage accrual?
What is a SkyTeam prefix?

You are seeing it right
V class on KLM earns you 25% as well.
A SkyTeam prefix is that of any ST airline, i.e. KL, AF, DL, KE, etc. If your flight has one of those - bingo, you're on a flight with a SkyTeam prefix

We recently booked a flight with NWA via KLM SFO to HNL return and only after booking discovered it was in V. However KLM were great and when I explained the miles problem they allowed me to upgrade to Q which was only £20 more.

Did some math and booked an itin with KL flight numbers. Purposely in Q, although V was available. On the NWA site, for the usual reasons (KLM site: booking class / fare basis obscured, cannot pull up availability and purchase by booking class, do not get to pick seat, taxes double, total fare higher (not always)).

Did have to call NWA though, to get premium seat, as according to the CSR my FB# was coming up as a base member; the old FD# did the trick.

I have experienced the V class ; travelling currently in North America, I went to Montréal to Milwaukee through Detroit by Northwest ; my miles has just been credited ; for the first leg, 132 miles ; for the second, 125 ; with obviously, the "famous" 100 % platinium bonus : a total of 514 miles, half of them being qualifying ; with this, to maintain a status, we should never land.... You say "generous by nature" ? :(

Other info : the merging of the double account was, according to a FB employee, due for today, but I checked my account(s) at 6 pm (Chicago time, FB employees are sleeping since a while), and nothing was done...
