Has anyone stayed there recently? Is the renovation completed? I am going next week and was going to stay at Grand Hyatt, but their spa won't be finished until July.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I am going next week and was going to stay at Grand Hyatt, but their spa won't be finished until July. Thank you. SJC Jun 11, 05, 10:21 am The renovation was completed over a year ago and they have done an excellent job for the rooms. However, I have not used their spa facility to provide feedback on that. mcgahat Jun 11, 05, 10:34 am Me and my wife used the spa when it was almost finished (it looked like it was done already to me) and got like a 20% discount I think. It was reasonably priced, cant remember how much but pretty reasonable. It is not a huge spa but it has some very nice massage rooms and the treatment menu is about the same as any other spa. StarpointsSlave Jun 11, 05, 8:03 pm I stayed at this property over Thanksgiving last year, and the renovations were complete except for one floor. The hotel will certainly be completely renovated by now. I agree with the previous poster about the high quality of the renovation. As a plat, I was assigned a suite which I'd rank as one of the top 5 that I've received from a Starwood property. (To put my rankings into perspective, you should understand that my taste runs to modern decor, so, for example, I preferred my Westin BKK suite to my Grand Hotel Florence suite.) I enjoyed the suite so much, I cancelled my stay the following night at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. The executive lounge also ranks near the top in my book for food presentation. You can also use the spa at the SGS and charge the treatment to your Westin room. You can cross-charge anything between the two hotels. I enjoyed the ambiance and treatments at the SGS spa. I can't remember where I read this opinion (which appeared in a travel column about a month ago), but the writer opined that the SGS spa was the best value among the 5-star hotel spas, offering the same quality of treatments as at the spas of FS/Pen/etc. for less $. GK Jun 12, 05, 2:14 am was there a few weeks ago.. no construction work going on at all. pool and spa are finished. |
