I'm booked on an upcoming ART itinerary; everything booked and ticketed just fine, but just now when I went back to check, there's something really odd going on. These are the flights showing, verbatim (shortened to remove dates/seats):

2:57P Arrive Chicago, IL (ORD)

This is exactly as appears, down to the ":???" for a flight. Can anybody experienced with the various idiosyncracies of the US web site explain what the heck I've got here? Obviously some flights are showing up twice, but the PIT-ORD flights, booked on two different flights at different (and unknown!) times...?!
Just curious if anybody's experienced this before. Obviously I'll call to get it straightened out at some point.

Its a schedule change, I believe. I had the same thing happen on some LEB itineraries that I had. It looks as if they may have booked you on back up flights as with the new schedule you would mis connect or they changed equipment and you will need a new seat assignment. Thats how my itinerary looked as well. It does look strange!! ^

A lot of times the US site will list duplicates of each flight that I've requested upgrades one, but the upgrades have not yet cleared.
Check www.virtuallythere.com to see what's really happening.

Look for the following:
Status: confirmed
Status: not confirmed
They probably did a schedule change and are still showing the old flight dates/times. Give us a call to reconfirm your reservation and they'll make sure those unconfirmed's go away.

That is exactly what a schedule change will look like. If you click "Show Details" and look at your res on virtuallythere.com, you will also see duplicates with the advice
"Flight Time Notice: Virtuallythere has noted a discrepancy in your flight times. Please verify your flight times with your travel arranger or airline."
Be sure to look at your reservation carefully, check out the updated timetables for those days, and decide if you'd like any changes to be made. The res agents are allowed a lot of flexibility when rebooking passengers affected by schedule changes...this is your chance to fine tune your itinerary ^

I've had such things appear before too, always due to a schedule change (sometimes even just a flight number change with no change of times). The unaffected flights appear twice, the old flight appears with question marks and "Check In at Airport" and the like. Virtually There has always been helpful since it will show a little more detail. It's possible/likely that one of the duplicate PIT-ORD legs will show as "unconfirmed" on Virtually There, with the real one showing "confirmed". A certain indertiminate period of time afterward, the reseervation gets cleaned up on usair.com so it only shows the actual flights.
I've had this happen on an award ticket that would be changeable in any circumstance, but when I wanted to change flight times the notation was made in the ticket "INVOL-US 2244 SCHED CHANGE" even though the ticket was changeable without a schedule change. Probably just a result of needing to enter something for the reason for the change.

This is exactly what I was looking for--a way to determine which flights I was actually confirmed on--and in my inexperience with USAirways' site, I missed the link to VirtuallyThere.
Thanks for the help, all of you :)

This happens when US make flight time changes - if it booked fine - its ok - in about a week or two it will show up fine again. This has happened to me several times. I did not do anything. Dont Stress - you are ok.

Is there a reason why the airlines don't notify you?
Is there a way to find out when the schedule changed?
Had we been notified with reasonable notice, I would have changed the entire design of a trip and not be penalized for it at this point.
As it is now, the fares are almost double, there are no itineraries that are suitable on USAIR, and if I want to make the trip, I have to change airlines.
I guess that is what you get when you book too far in advance.
They put low fares in there to entice you to book and then they switch the delivered product.

Remember fajimenez, if you don't like the schedule change, US will put you on another US (and only US) flight as long as seats are available. Doesn't even have to be the same booking code. If your still not satisfied you can try alternate airports around your destination. IE: ART to now SYR, or you can even ask for a full refund due to schedule change without any penalty.

I've always gotten an email about such schedule changes; it sometimes takes a little time for it to come but it always has. This is for reservations made online anyway. I believe that in the past year or two there was a letter in Your Turn regarding a schedule change without notification and Deborah checked into it and it turned out that there wasn't a useful phone number in the reservation (apparently this particular reservation was made by phone) so there was no way to call to relay the change. I will vouch for the fact that they (at least used to) make calls--my parents got schedule change phone calls back when they would book by phone.
It's probably a good idea to go online and check your reservations every once in a while, just in case.....things do happen.
