I will fly LHR HKG TPE v.v. with CX in F. For my HKG TPE flight there is only C.
As I arrive in F and the rest of the ticket is also F, will they allow me in?

Yes, as long as you fly the same day.

I think he will be stopping over in TPE and not continuing on with the rest of his trip which is in F class, he says.

Generally you are allowed access to F class only if you carry an onward boarding pass in F. But as you are terminating in TPE that day, you will only be allowed access to the Business Class lounge. However, bring it to the attention of the check-in staff as you have a F class ticket and ask if you can use the F lounge as the flight you're taking does not have F class and it's not your fault that you're flying in J class.

Generally CX staff are quite accomodating.

If the fair basis of the ticket is F than there will be not problem at all.

Thanx for your replies. The ticket is unrestricted F so I will politely ask to get in - I just switch from Star to OW and have no status yet.

Are you asking about the F louges in HKG? If so, you are a transiting First Class passenger, and access shouldn't be a problem.

If you are asking about the TPE lounges, a few things: if you are terminating in TPE, you may not be able to access the lounge. When you get off the plane, there will be a CX person with "transit" cards for pax who are transiting, or in some cases like me, continuing on to NRT and disembarking for an hour. Otherwise, they will direct you out thru security. If you want to come back in before exiting immigration, you generally need a BP and on-ward ticket.

Now, as for the C vs. F Lounge issue:

1. The F lounge is located inside the C lounge, in the back, behind a swinging frosted glass door. There is no gatekeeper for the F lounge vs. the C Lounge: it's self policing. I have never seen anyone asked for their BP inside the lounge. But I agree with all the above, if there was an access issue, I suspect they would let you enter anyway.

2. The TPE lounge area is pretty nice, with a noodle bar, decent drinks/snacks, and plenty of computer access. The F lounge has a couple more dedicated computers (but there are a lot in C) and a few, insignificantly different drink/food options.

Lastly, there are two F flights between HKG and TPE, but they are in the morning, so unless you are on CX252 from LHR, you'll mis-connect, hence the C flights, but it's only an hour flight anyway.

I agree with all the above comments. I also feel some frustration when back in Europe I fly between CDG, TXL, VIE, LHR, PRG in C on AF, BA or LH and compare the duration, the price and the experience with a CX HKG-TPE flight in F. C'est la vie.

Those HKG-TPE-HKG F flights are among the best little ole one hour flights in the business. ;)
