Asia - villas in asia

After looking at http://samui.sawadee.com/hotels/house.html (site recommended in another thread here) looking at the rates for villas, this looks like a great alternative to hotels. Around 100-150 USD pr. night actually gives you a great villa, with private swimming pool, great views and total privicy. Or 25-50 gives you a great room in a villa, thus sharing the facilities with others but somehow still with the privacy feel that you do not get at resorts.

Do any of you guys have any great experiences with websites for booking villas, or maybe even specific villas in asia? Thailand seems to be great value, but maybe there are also interesting posibilities in other south eastern asia areas?

http://www.sawadee.com/samui/sandalwood/pictures/ looks like great value at 130 usd in low season. A villa i wound't mind spending time in :)

I'm a big fan of renting villas, in part, for the reasons you describe - you get a lot for your money. I just used this site to rent this place in Bali in August. They have several other places in Indonesia as well on their site.
