Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Best seats to prebook MEL-HKG CX134 in economy

We're redeeming some BA miles for this flight and have only been able to get economy despite the flight being next February.

Can anyone suggest what seats we should try to get assigned? I'm assuming we can do this in advance by calling CX in the UK.

Travelling in FEB = Chinese New Year!

Try and get on either QF or CX or via other points. Feb is peak travel ex-Australia as it's still summer holidays.

CX can only preselect seats 6 months ahead. Yes you may try CX in UK but make sure you have BA elite status on your reservation or else you are not allowed preselection of seats in economy.

Afraid we're burning all our other points just getting there!

Any suggestions for good seats in economy?

Best seats on any airbus aircrafts are the emergency exit seats 54AC/HK. But these seats are generally blocked off by CX and they would only release them to Marco Polo members. I am not sure if they would bend for other Oneworld elite members so you'd have to try.

My experience has been that they're gentle but firm :p about reserving those seats for Marco Polo members. I'm sure it won't hurt to try.
