Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Getting to Silver

I am currently QFSilver (OWRuby), and have a couple of business class CX flights booked, thanks the 45% off sale here in Korea, to almost all CX destinations! :D (Tickets booked by June 15, for travel in July and August- booked as I class)
I have ICN-HKG rtn, then two weeks later ICN-HKG-BKK-HKG-ICN. I can't see on the CX website how many Club sectors I would get (if I join Marco Polo).
After the devaluation of my QF account with the changes last week, I am looking to change QW programmes. CX is the OW airline I use most often, so I am thinking of taking it out.
I need 20 sectors to get Silver right? (That will match me to my current QF level). As a Korean based QF member would they comp me matching status?
Thanks for any help you can give me!
20 Sectors or 30,000 Miles. I misread it for 20,000, buggered up someone else's travel plans...
why not change to star alliance (asiana) or skyteam (korean air) if you are in korea and there are no oneworld carriers based out of korea...
i prefer star alliance in asia since there are so many carriers here... singapore, thai, ana, asiana... also, united has a hub in japan, so for me it is very convenient...

I also have SQ (for *A) and KE (Skyteam). I have all three, and then I can fit any alliance into my schedule! :)
Does the sector count vary depending on the mileage of the flight/and class of service (as per QF Status Credits)?

No, the sector count doesn't vary by mileage. This means, for example, LHR-HKG has the same sector count as TPE-HKG ... as long as we're comparing the same class of service. Business class gets an additional 25%, first class 50%.
The system is least favorable to travel that is evenly split between short-haul and long-haul flights.

I think you might as well keep it into your QF account. FYI it is MUCH MUCH harder to get MPO Gold and Diamond compared to QF's Gold and PLT.
Based on your itineary, you won't be able to make SILVER in MPO.
If you Credit it to QF you get a minimum of 160 or even more SC.
Also do note that in CX once you have reached the certain status ALL your status miles/sectors will be reset. Therefore if you are NB (no body) to get from Green to Gold you will need 90,000 milesor if you want Diamond then you will need 210,000 miles!
However I did hear that there are some exceptions if you can prove to CX that you or worthy (they will comp you to Silver or Gold). But I Class tickets are not something they will put into consideration (especially only short hauls!)
The miles award in QF is shi& now, but at least you can still keep the status and it will come in handy.
OH FYI, even on CX As a Silver (Oneworld Ruby) you get to use the CX Lounge when you fly CX! + Spouse. Also a 10kg Excess Baggage allowance on CX flights and Priority Baggage tags (J Priority) even when travelling in Y.
And as a green MPO you can use the MPO checkin Counters.
I don't think any other oneworld programme is this generous!

It was the longe access for me and my spouse, as well as the extra luggage allowance, that I was most interested in!
I think that I may just put the trip to QF then, and do a MR later in the year to get up to QF Gold...

Yep. It is like a Catch 22.
If you are a Nb (no Body) Then I will advise you to join MPO ASAP, but since you made QF silver already, hence you might as well make it to gold (it is SO EASY to get there and maintain it!) and get Oneworld Sapphire Benefits.
Good Luck with your MR
