South African Airways (SAA) has suspended an air hostess allegedly found in possession of stolen travellers cheques worth R20 000 and a gold ring valued at R10 000. "SAA has suspended Ms (Linda) Danie and disciplinary action will follow. The airline took immediate action after learning that a cabin crew member was implicated in alleged theft from passengers' on-board luggage," Onkgopotse JJ Tabane, an SAA spokesperson, said today.
